Sir Edmund Hillary
Hi, I'm Gillian.
I am an experienced counsellor offering a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported.
My own experience of counselling in 2017 inspired me to train as a counsellor and gave me a genuine understanding of how difficult it can be to reach out for help. I know the courage it takes to take that first step, and I am passionate about helping others navigate life's challenges and create positive change.
For over ten years, I have worked with children and young people in educational settings, giving me valuable insight into the emotional and social pressures many people face.
I hold an MSC in Counselling from Abertay University, a Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People, and a Diploma in Couples Counselling. I am also a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with its professional and ethical standards.
Whether you are facing a particular challenge or simply need a space to talk, I am here to support you at a pace that feels right for you.

Get in touch using the contact form below and I’ll contact you directly.
I’m happy to talk things through whether it’s for you or someone else and help you decide what feels right. If you choose to proceed, we’ll arrange an initial assessment as the next gentle step forward.

When counselling begins, we start with an intake appointment where you can share whatever feels important and we can explore whether we’re a good fit. If you choose to continue, we’ll meet for 50-minute weekly sessions, either on an open-ended basis or for an agreed number of fixed sessions.

Counselling sessions are flexible to suit your needs. You can choose to meet face to face, speak over the telephone, or connect online . Each option offers the same level of care, confidentiality, and support, allowing you to choose what feels most comfortable and accessible for you.
